Every photographer has thousands of photos of other people, but very few of themselves doing what they love. This is one of those rare moments, and it’s one I’ll always treasure.

A Rare Glimpse of the Photographer Behind the Camera.

I’m almost always the one behind the lens.

I’m the one looking for the perfect light, watching for genuine emotion, adjusting my angle, and waiting for the moment that tells a story. Because of that, there are very few photographs of me doing what I love most.

This is one of them.

Photography has become so much more than a profession for me. It’s how I connect with people, preserve memories, and express creativity. Whether I’m photographing a wedding, an engagement, a family, or a quiet landscape at sunset, every time I lift my camera to my eye, I’m searching for something authentic.

People often see the finished photographs but rarely see what happens behind the scenes. They don’t always see the photographer kneeling in tall grass, climbing over rocks, waiting for the light to change, or quietly observing until the perfect moment unfolds.

That’s where the magic really happens.

I’m incredibly grateful that this moment was captured by fellow photographer Kelly Hebert of Kelly Hebert Photography. It’s a reminder that even photographers deserve to have memories preserved, too.
