Meet the Photographer

I'm Deidra Dixie Snider

I'm a Native Nevadan who loves photographing around Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe.

I believe photographs are little pieces of time we get to keep.

Behind every soft glance, every sweet smile, and every thoughtful pause is a story to be told through a captured photograph.

I'm drawn to old cameras, dramatic skies, vintage textures, and the quiet moments between the posed ones.

My goal isn't to make you look like someone else. It's to help you see the beauty everyone else already sees in you.

Long before I ever picked up a camera, I was an artist at heart. I was the person noticing the way golden light filtered through the trees, the texture of something old and forgotten, the emotion hidden in a simple moment. I’ve always believed there is beauty in the imperfect; the messy, the real, the wonderfully human.

Photography became my way of preserving those moments. Not just what something looked like, but what it felt like. The laughter you couldn’t recreate, the confidence you didn’t know you had, the connection you never want to forget.

My style is inspired by nature, nostalgia, fine art and storytelling — rich earthy tones, cinematic landscapes, soft emotion, and a little bit of whimsy. Whether we’re standing beneath the mountains of Lake Tahoe, chasing sunset light, or creating something completely imagined, my hope is that your images feel like stepping into a memory.

Because someday these photographs won’t just show what you looked like.

They’ll remind you who you were, who you loved, and the story you lived.

BEAUTY THAT BECOMES MY MUSE...

It's the details that make the memory.

The same heart that sees emotion in people also finds wonder in the quiet corners of the world. I’m captivated by the details that give the world its character. The textures, the colors, the light, the quiet moments, and the overlooked beauty that many people walk right past. Whether it’s a butterfly on lavender, weathered architecture, bold wildlife, or sweeping landscapes, these are the moments that inspire my creativity and shape the way I see every portrait I create. The same eye that notices these quiet details is the one searching for the genuine moments in every session.

Below are a few of my favorite people-free photographs that continue to inspire me and bring me a sense of peace.

Small butterfly perched on purple lavender flowers in a field with soft bokeh background at golden hour.

Misty foggy Puget Sound landscape with large rocks and green grass in the foreground on a grey overcast day.
Stack of balanced zen stones beside an overturned terracotta pot surrounded by lush green garden plants.
